A major traditional finance player is entering the tokenized asset market. Asset management company Janus Henderson, together with the Centrifuge platform, has announced the launch of a tokenized fund JQQQ, which tracks the performance of the Nasdaq-100 index under the corresponding exchange license.
The product debuts on the Stellar blockchain and is aimed at professional investors outside the United States. This decision marks another stage in the integration of traditional capital market instruments into distributed ledger infrastructure.
Key product parameters
According to the disclosed terms, the minimum entry threshold for the fund is 100,000 USDC. The annual fee is set at 0.1%, making the product one of the most competitive offerings in the tokenized index instruments segment. Custody of the underlying securities is provided by J.P. Morgan, one of the largest global custodians.
The fund's mechanics provide for daily issuance and redemption of shares in USDC or USDT stablecoins, which gives investors high liquidity and flexibility in managing their position without the need to interact with traditional brokerage channels.
The launch of JQQQ reflects the sustained trend toward tokenization of real-world assets (RWA), where institutional managers are increasingly using blockchain to expand access to classic investment strategies. The choice of Stellar as the base network underscores a bet on transaction speed and low costs — critically important parameters for products with a daily settlement cycle.
Cryptalist analysis: Janus Henderson's entry into the tokenized index fund segment intensifies competition among institutional managers for RWA market share and confirms the maturity of Stellar's infrastructure for hosting regulated products. The combination of a low fee, custody services through J.P. Morgan, and daily settlement in stablecoins creates an attractive risk profile for professional investors, which could accelerate capital inflows into tokenized traditional market instruments in the coming quarters.
