The digital asset market is approaching a structural turning point, and the launch of a full-fledged altseason may occur significantly earlier than most traders factor into their models. The key trigger is not Bitcoin's behavior or inflows into spot ETFs, but the dynamics of macroeconomic indicators that market participants traditionally ignore.
While Bitcoin holds its leading position and small coins fail to show sustained growth, the altcoin season index remains below the level required for a large-scale rally. In the fall, the first cryptocurrency was under pressure due to a difficult October and the US midterm elections on November 3. However, it is precisely now that a signal capable of changing the balance of power is forming.
The ISM Index as a Leading Indicator of Capital Rotation
The analysis is based on the historical correlation between Bitcoin's market share and the US manufacturing business activity index (ISM), which reflects the state of American factories and plants. In past cycles of industrial expansion, the dominance of the first cryptocurrency declined, after which altcoins outperformed it in terms of returns. Such a relationship has not been observed since 2021.
Fresh statistics are moving in exactly this direction. The ISM index rose to 55.5 points in October from 54.5 in September, and US manufacturing has been growing for the tenth consecutive month. The key mark is the level of 58 points — surpassing it has historically preceded a change in market leadership.
An additional boost to the economy comes from the global artificial intelligence boom. In October, South Korea's chip exports surged by 259.4% thanks to demand for AI infrastructure — this indicator, like semiconductor exports from Taiwan, deserves especially close attention.
Economic expansion naturally leads to the emergence of excess liquidity. Investors begin directing capital into risk assets, and the correlation between manufacturing and Bitcoin's share remains a stable historical pattern rather than a strict trading signal. Nevertheless, a trend reversal is expected soon — sooner rather than later.
Where to Look Before the New Rally
As the market returns to growth, tracking capital flows within blockchains becomes of paramount importance. The movement of capital between networks allows finding entry points before tokens take off. Activity around the Robinhood ecosystem and inflows into Solana, Sui, and Base are telling: the investor looks for networks with capital inflows in order to select promising projects. When a network begins to grow in volume, DEXs and lending protocols perform best — analytical services Artemis and DefiLlama serve to detect such shifts.
Undervalued altcoins deserve special attention: a cryptocurrency may lose 80–90% of its value while the service itself generates high revenue. Notable examples are Pump.fun with revenue of about $45.35 million in October and Hyperliquid. However, a project's revenue alone does not lift the coin's price — one must account for emission volume, overall valuation, and the benefit token holders derive from the ecosystem's success.
The main mistake market participants make is buying an asset at the peak of general discussion, when the project becomes known after a price surge and social media coverage. The key principle: upon noticing a new narrative, one should honestly ask whether you saw it earlier or later than others. The same rule applies when selling fallen coins to buy rising ones.
Bitcoin Bull Cycle Until 2028
Positive developments are expected not only in the alternative coin segment. Bitcoin's growth cycle may prove longer than the standard four years: with a favorable macroeconomic environment, the current uptrend will last until 2027 or 2028. Growth is supported by the migration of traditional financial processes into on-chain format, although the scenario depends on the development of manufacturing and global liquidity.
Cryptalist Analysis: The market underestimates the speed at which the macroeconomic impulse translates into capital rotation from Bitcoin into altcoins. Sustained growth of the ISM index and the AI infrastructure boom create the foundation for excess liquidity, which historically flows into risk assets. Institutional investors should shift their focus from price charts to on-chain metrics of capital inflows into the Solana, Sui, and Base networks — that is precisely where the early entry points of the next cycle are forming.
