UFC distributes bonuses in USD1: Trump's stablecoin enters the octagon at the White House

Trump Трамп криптовалюты 2025

The historic UFC Freedom 250 tournament, held on June 14 on the South Lawn of the White House, was marked not only by sporting achievements but also by a significant step in integrating digital assets into mainstream sports. The bonus pool partner was the DeFi project World Liberty Financial, affiliated with Donald Trump's family. This project is the issuer of the USD1 stablecoin.

The total bonus pool amounted to $250,000, and all payments to fighters were made exclusively in USD1 tokens. Participants of seven fights of the evening received payments. This is the first time in UFC history that prizes for the best fights and performances have been distributed in stablecoins rather than traditional fiat currency.

Analysis: The use of the USD1 stablecoin as a payment method at an event of this level is not just a marketing ploy. It is a direct demonstration of the practical utility of the World Liberty Financial project. Bringing digital dollars into the real sector — payments to athletes — sets a precedent for other sports leagues and promotional companies.

From my point of view, this move is strategically sound. It not only draws attention to the stablecoin itself against the backdrop of UFC's massive audience but also lays the foundation for deeper integration of DeFi tools into the entertainment industry. If World Liberty Financial continues in the same vein, we may see USD1 become the standard for paying fees in combat sports, replacing slow and expensive bank transfers.
