Major players are buying at the bottom: Strategy is increasing its Bitcoin holdings, BitMine is accumulating Ethereum.

While retail investors remain hesitant, institutional giants are taking action. Last week, we witnessed aggressive cryptocurrency buying by two of the largest corporate holders. Strategy, the leader in bitcoin reserves, and BitMine, the largest corporate holder of Ethereum, simultaneously increased their positions, confirming a strategy of accumulation at current price levels.

Strategy: Another +1,587 BTC Added to the Hoard

Between June 8 and June 14, Strategy acquired 1,587 BTC for approximately $100 million. The average purchase price was $63,024 per coin. The company's total holdings have now reached 846,842 BTC, acquired for a total of $64.07 billion at an average price of $75,656.

Importantly, the purchases were financed through an at-the-market (ATM) equity offering program. Concurrently, the company increased its dollar reserve by $100 million to $1.1 billion. Thus, Strategy continues not only to expand its bitcoin reserves but also to maintain significant liquidity in fiat. Currently, the company's holdings represent approximately 5.59% of the total circulating supply of bitcoin.

This move came amid a short-term recovery in the BTC price. By June 15, the asset had recovered over 12% from the cycle low of $59,131 recorded on June 5, trading near $66,500. However, it remains nearly 47% below the all-time high of $126,200 set in October 2025.

BitMine: Targeting 5% of All Ethereum

BitMine was not far behind. Over the past week, the company added 76,881 ETH, bringing its total holdings to 5.62 million ETH. This represents approximately 4.66% of the total Ethereum supply. The company is now 93% of the way toward its ambitious goal of "5% alchemy," i.e., holding 5% of all ether in circulation. BitMine plans to achieve this goal during 2026.

Notably, over 83% of its holdings (approximately 4.72 million ETH) are already staked, generating roughly $226 million in annual income for the company. BitMine's total cryptocurrency and cash assets have grown to $10.4 billion, including approximately $285 million in cash.

Analytical Commentary: The actions of Strategy and BitMine send a clear signal to the market. While the price fluctuates near local lows, "smart money" is not just holding but actively increasing positions. Strategy is, in effect, transforming into the corporate world's bitcoin treasury, while BitMine demonstrates unprecedented faith in Ethereum, betting not only on price appreciation but also on staking yields. This suggests that institutional investors view current levels as an attractive entry point for long-term accumulation, ignoring short-term volatility.
