Coinbase Head: Bitcoin has found a bottom near $60,000 — a reversal is beginning
Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, has once again reaffirmed his unwavering belief in Bitcoin, calling it the "new digital gold." In a recent statement, he confirmed that he maintains a long position on the asset despite the current market turbulence. According to him, the current situation is a classic scenario that has been observed in past cycles, and short-term fluctuations do not change the long-term dynamics of the first cryptocurrency.
The Four-Year Cycle and the Turning Point
Armstrong published a chart titled "Bitcoin Four-Year Cycles," which clearly shows alternating phases of growth and decline, each lasting approximately two years, starting from 2011. A question mark is placed in mid-2026 on the chart — precisely where, according to the Coinbase CEO, Bitcoin has likely already found its price bottom. He emphasized that the current correction fully aligns with the familiar logic of long-term market movement.
Notably, discussions about the four-year cycle have become particularly heated this year. Analyst Benjamin Cowen, for example, insists that the pattern is still working and expects a bottom no earlier than the fourth quarter of 2026. Other experts point out that the influx of institutional capital and funds into spot ETFs has significantly accelerated the usual phases of growth and decline, which could disrupt the classic cyclicality. Armstrong, however, sticks to his previous position, emphasizing that Bitcoin is not just a trading tool but also a store of value important for the U.S. economy.
Bearish Sentiment and Forecast for 2030
Armstrong also criticized bearish forecasts at current prices. He noted that over the past few months, stablecoins, prediction markets, and derivative instruments have grown significantly, even though BTC itself remains under pressure. In his view, the industry has long outgrown the confines of just Bitcoin, but many market participants have yet to realize this.
At the same time, he emphasized the fundamental role of Bitcoin. The current drawdown is just one of many cycles, and the asset's significance remains unchanged. This aligns with his long-standing forecasts: sooner or later, Bitcoin will be worth millions of dollars. Armstrong's optimism is not limited to price. He is confident that by 2030, 10% of the global economy will operate on cryptocurrencies. The forecast is based on a simple idea: Bitcoin remains the foundational digital infrastructure, and short-term price swings do not change that.
"I remain optimistic as always — I think the price will be significantly higher by 2030, and I still believe in Bitcoin," the businessman emphasized.
Expert Commentary: Armstrong's statement is a powerful signal for the market. While retail investors panic, institutional players and industry leaders see the current correction as an entry opportunity. However, it is worth remembering that the bottom is a process, not a point. The sustainability of the $60,000 level will become clear as the macroeconomic situation unfolds in the second half of 2026.
