Coinbase Head: Bitcoin found a bottom at $60,000 — a new cycle begins

Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, has reaffirmed his unwavering belief in Bitcoin as "new digital gold." According to him, the current correction is just another chapter in the long-term bullish scenario, and the asset itself has likely already reached a price bottom around $60,000.

In a recent post on platform X, the head of the largest US crypto exchange directly addressed market turbulence, noting that investor sentiment traditionally swings to extremes. Armstrong emphasized that short-term fluctuations do not change his expectations for Bitcoin's long-term dynamics in any way. In his view, the market is repeating a scenario well known from past cycles.

Four-Year Cycle: History Repeating?

Armstrong attached a chart titled "Bitcoin's Four-Year Cycles" to his post. It clearly shows alternating phases of growth and decline since 2011, each lasting approximately two years. Notably, a question mark is placed in mid-2026 on the chart, indicating a potential turning point or the end of the current bear phase.

Debates around the four-year cycle analysis have intensified this year. Analyst Benjamin Cowen, for example, believes the pattern is still working and expects a likely bottom no earlier than the fourth quarter of 2026. Other experts note that institutional capital and inflows into spot ETFs have significantly accelerated the usual growth and decline phases, which could shift traditional timeframes.

It is important to emphasize that Armstrong has held this view on Bitcoin cycles for a long time. He has repeatedly explained why Bitcoin is important for the US economy, calling the asset not just a trading tool but also a store of value.

2030 Forecast: Bitcoin at a Million?

Armstrong also criticized bearish forecasts for Bitcoin's current price. He pointed to significant growth in stablecoins, prediction markets, and derivatives instruments in recent months, even though BTC itself remains under pressure. The industry, in his opinion, has long outgrown the confines of a single Bitcoin, but many market participants have not yet noticed this.

At the same time, the Coinbase head emphasized Bitcoin's fundamental role. The current drawdown, Armstrong believes, is just one of many cycles, and the asset's significance remains unchanged. This aligns with his long-standing forecasts: sooner or later, Bitcoin will be worth millions of dollars.

"I am as optimistic as ever — I think the price will be significantly higher by 2030, and I still believe in Bitcoin," the businessman emphasized.

Whether the level Armstrong indicated will hold will become clear as the macroeconomic situation develops in the second half of 2026. His post has generated significant resonance, indicating close attention from market participants to the opinions of key industry figures.

Expert opinion: Armstrong's statement is not just optimism, but a clear signal for institutional investors. A bottom at $60,000 looks logical from the perspective of on-chain metrics and historical support levels. However, I would not discount macroeconomic risks: if the Fed continues its tight monetary policy, Bitcoin could test deeper levels. Nevertheless, the long-term trend remains upward, and the current correction is an excellent opportunity for accumulation.
