Coinbase Head: Bitcoin has bottomed at $60,000 — time to turn around

The market is at a crossroads again, and one of the most influential voices in the industry is once again reaffirming its faith in Bitcoin. Brian Armstrong, CEO of the largest US crypto exchange Coinbase, made a decisive statement, calling the first cryptocurrency "new digital gold" and confirming that he maintains a long position on the asset.

In his recent comment, the top executive directly pointed out that the current market turbulence is just another episode in Bitcoin's long history, which we have already observed in past cycles. In his view, short-term fluctuations do not negate the long-term bullish trend, and investors who give in to panic are repeating the mistakes of previous years.

Cyclical Analysis and Market Bottom

Armstrong published a chart titled "Bitcoin's Four-Year Cycles," which clearly shows alternating phases of growth and decline, each lasting approximately two years, starting from 2011. In mid-2026, a question mark is placed on the chart—exactly where, according to his logic, the current bearish phase should end. He suggested that Bitcoin may have already found its price bottom around $60,000, but refrained from drawing final conclusions.

Interestingly, this position resonates with the analysis of other experts. For example, analyst Benjamin Cowen also adheres to the theory of four-year cycles and expects a likely bottom no earlier than the fourth quarter of 2026. However, some market participants note that institutional capital and inflows into spot ETFs have significantly accelerated the usual phases, which could shift the timeframes.

Bitcoin's Fundamental Role

Armstrong did not limit himself to price forecasts. He emphasized that Bitcoin's significance extends far beyond being a speculative tool. According to him, it is the basic digital infrastructure for the entire global economy, and short-term price swings do not change that. He criticized bearish sentiment, pointing to notable growth in stablecoins, prediction markets, and derivative instruments—the industry, in his view, has long outgrown the confines of just Bitcoin, but many participants have yet to see this.

Armstrong's optimism is not limited to price alone. He is confident that by 2030, 10% of the global economy will operate on cryptocurrencies. "I remain optimistic as always—I think by 2030 the price will be significantly higher, and I still believe in Bitcoin," the businessman concluded.

Analyst's Comment: Armstrong's statements are not just emotional support but a clear signal for institutional investors. The $60,000 level indeed looks like a strong support zone, but to confirm the bottom, the market needs to consolidate above $65,000 and overcome local resistance. We are watching the macroeconomic data from the second half of 2026—it will be the decisive trigger for the next move.
