HYPE-ETF: Trading volume exceeds $900 million, and the Hyperliquid ecosystem is gaining momentum

It has been less than a month since the launch of spot HYPE ETFs from 21Shares, Bitwise, and Grayscale, and the total trading volume of these instruments has already approached $900 million. Net inflows into the funds reached $153 million, indicating strong interest from institutional investors in the Hyperliquid token.

A key factor driving demand is the platform's unique economic model. Approximately 97% of Hyperliquid's trading fees are directed to a support fund, creating an automatic HYPE buyback mechanism. Increased activity on the platform directly boosts buying pressure on the token, forming a sustainable growth cycle.

Staking and Supply Lock-up

All three ETFs support staking with an annual yield of around 2.25%. Currently, 434 million HYPE are locked, representing 45% of the available supply. This high proportion of locked tokens reduces market liquidity and creates additional scarcity, positively impacting the price.

SpaceX IPO as a Catalyst

An additional growth driver for the ecosystem was the IPO of SpaceX. On the day Elon Musk's company went public, trading volume for the corresponding perpetual contract (SPCX) on Hyperliquid reached $1.4 billion. This instrument accounted for 30% of all activity in the HIP-3 segment — user-created perpetual contract markets. This demonstrates that Hyperliquid is becoming a preferred platform for trading new and highly volatile assets.

At the time of writing, HYPE is trading at $72.9, showing an increase of 11.4% over the past day. In May, Hyperliquid's share of perpetual futures trading volume reached a record 6.63% of the total turnover on CEXs — $200 million out of $3 trillion.

Analyst Comment: The growth of HYPE ETFs and the activity surrounding Hyperliquid confirm that the platform is no longer a niche player and is confidently competing with centralized exchanges. The automatic token buyback mechanism funded by fees is a strong fundamental factor that could support the HYPE price even during market corrections. However, investors should monitor the supply lock-up level: if it begins to decline, selling pressure could intensify.
