XRP in Focus: 9% Growth and a Controversial Forecast of $1000 — Cryptalist Analysis
The altcoin market is once again attracting attention, and XRP has found itself at the center of events. On Monday, the coin rose by 9.3%, reaching a local high of $1.29. This surge coincided with massive accumulation of XRP by large holders and the revival of discussions around an ambitious long-term forecast — $1,000 by 2030.
The key catalyst for the growth was the easing of geopolitical tensions, which pushed investors toward riskier assets. Bitcoin responded by rising to $65,300, gold added about 2%, while oil, on the contrary, fell by more than 3%. Against this backdrop, XRP confidently recovered, settling around $1.22 with a daily gain of 3.25%.
Whales Accumulate XRP: A Signal for the Market
Analysis of on-chain data shows that wallets with a balance exceeding 1 million XRP now control 74.1% of the total supply. Over the past six months, large players have increased their holdings by approximately 1.53 billion tokens. This indicates a high degree of confidence among institutional participants in the asset's long-term potential, despite recent price declines. Historically, XRP has shown its most powerful impulses precisely during moments of maximum pessimism among retail investors.
$1,000 by 2030: Realistic or Utopian?
Dom Kwok, co-founder of the educational app EasyA and a former Goldman Sachs analyst, has once again voiced his target — $1,000 per XRP by 2030. He compares the evolution of the blockchain industry to the dawn of the internet era, when mass adoption became possible only after the emergence of simple and useful services. In his view, XRP has a distinct advantage over Bitcoin: it has real-world use cases, and applications built on the XRP Ledger create value directly for the token itself.
Kwok also notes that the current penetration rate of cryptocurrencies — only 7% of the world's population — is extremely low. When new users enter the market, they will be deterred by the high prices of Bitcoin and Ethereum, and he believes their choice will fall on XRP as a more accessible asset.
Numbers and Realities: What It Takes for $1,000
Growth from the current $1.22 to $1,000 would require an increase in XRP's market capitalization to over $60 trillion. This implies an influx of trillions of dollars and an unprecedented level of adoption of the XRP Ledger in global financial and commercial settlements. In my view, such a scenario remains highly speculative and unlikely within the current decade, but it reflects the optimism that fuels interest in the asset.
