XRP storms $1.29: Are growth forecasts of $1,000 realistic?

At the start of the week, XRP demonstrated a confident surge, gaining 9.3% and reaching a local peak of $1.29. The trigger for this momentum was a combination of factors: active accumulation of the coin by large holders and a general revival in the altcoin market. In addition, discussions have reignited in the community around an ambitious long-term forecast suggesting the asset could rise to four-digit levels.

Foundation for Growth: From Macroeconomics to On-Chain Data

The key catalyst for the shift in sentiment was the easing of geopolitical tensions, which pushed investors back toward risk assets. Bitcoin responded by rising to $65,300, gold gained about 2%, while oil, on the other hand, lost more than 3%. Against this backdrop, XRP not only held its positions but also consolidated around $1.22, showing a daily gain of 3.25%.

Analytical data from the Santiment platform confirms that retail investor sentiment around XRP has fallen to lows not seen since October 2025. However, historically, it is precisely during moments of total pessimism that this cryptocurrency has generated its most powerful price impulses. Simultaneously, wallets with balances exceeding 1 million XRP have accumulated 74.1% of the total market supply. Over the past six months, large players have increased their holdings by approximately 1.53 billion tokens, which is a strong bullish signal.

Forecast of $1,000: Ambition or Reality?

On the wave of positivity, the long-standing forecast of XRP reaching the $1,000 mark by 2030 has resurfaced. The author of this scenario argues it based on the growing number of cryptocurrency users—currently only 7% of the world's population owns digital assets. He believes that newcomers will avoid buying Bitcoin or Ethereum due to their high prices, opting instead for the more affordable XRP.

In his model, he draws a parallel with the era of the internet's inception, when mass adoption became possible only after the emergence of simple and useful services. In his view, projects based on the XRP Ledger create value directly for the token itself, rather than for third-party overlays.

However, to reach $1,000, XRP's market capitalization would need to exceed $60 trillion, requiring an influx of trillions of dollars. Such a scenario is only possible with an unprecedented level of technology adoption in international financial and commercial settlements.

Analyst's Opinion: The current momentum of XRP appears technically and fundamentally justified. Whale accumulation and low retail sentiment are classic precursors to a reversal. However, the $1,000 forecast is more of a narrative to attract attention than a realistic target. Growth to $5–10 within the current bullish cycle looks much more achievable and would already represent a multiple increase in market capitalization.
