The AI agent market is being reshaped: Anthropic's Claude makes a leap in Singapore

AI agents

The analytical sector is recording a significant shift in the artificial intelligence landscape among Singaporean startups. Anthropic's Claude model is experiencing explosive growth: the number of paying customers has increased by 258% over the past 12 months, and their spending on this service has grown 17-fold.

According to data from the fintech platform Aspire, a year earlier, OpenAI had more than a fourfold advantage over Anthropic in the number of paying startups in Singapore. Today, this gap has narrowed to 1.5 times. Even more indicative is the redistribution of market shares: Claude now accounts for 37% of all spending by Singaporean startups on AI tools.

The overall ecosystem has also undergone significant changes. The number of startups actively using AI solutions has grown by 42%. Meanwhile, the number of companies working simultaneously with three or more platforms has more than doubled. This indicates market maturity: startups are no longer choosing a single provider but are diversifying their AI portfolios.

My expert commentary: Claude's growth is not just statistics but a signal that the AI agent market is entering a phase of real competition. OpenAI is losing its monopoly position, and this is good for innovation. Singaporean startups, traditionally sensitive to cost-performance ratio, are voting with their dollars for models that offer the best value for specific business tasks. Further redistribution of shares is inevitable.
