Quantum Breakthrough: OVHcloud Integrates Quobly's Quantum Processor into Its Cloud Platform

European cloud giant OVHcloud is taking a significant step into the future by announcing the expansion of its Quantum Platform. By the end of 2026, the company's sovereign cloud will host Alloy Pioneer — the first commercial quantum computer from French startup Quobly, built on silicon spin qubits.

This event marks not just another partnership, but an attempt to create a truly functional bridge between classical and quantum computing infrastructure. The choice of Quobly is no coincidence: their technology is based on standard 300mm FD-SOI wafers, which is an industry standard for semiconductors. This approach avoids the costly and difficult-to-scale alternatives characteristic of other quantum architectures.

From a business perspective, OVHcloud is betting on pragmatic engineering. Using FD-SOI wafers means Quobly's quantum chips can be manufactured at existing factories without the need to build specialized production lines. This is critical for reducing costs and accelerating the commercialization of the technology. Alloy Pioneer will be the first device to demonstrate how effectively silicon spin qubits can be integrated into a classical cloud environment.
