Ethereum Foundation loses second co-director: Xiao-Wei Wang steps down

Ethereum ETH Эфир 2025

The leadership of the Ethereum Foundation continues to undergo significant changes. Co-Executive Director Xiao-Wen Wang has officially announced her departure from both operational management and the foundation's board. The decision was made after completing a sabbatical, and according to her, it is related to a reassessment of personal priorities.

This is already the second major loss for the key organization of the Ethereum ecosystem in recent months. In February, Tomasz Stańczak left a similar position, forcing the foundation to promptly appoint Bastian Aue as interim co-Executive Director. Thus, the top management structure of the Ethereum Foundation is undergoing a fundamental reorganization.

From a market dynamics perspective, such personnel changes in the non-profit organization managing protocol development may be perceived as a signal of uncertainty. However, it is important to understand that the Ethereum Foundation has traditionally been decentralized in its structure, and the departure of individuals should not directly affect the development roadmap. Nevertheless, for institutional investors monitoring management stability, this is a reason to take a closer look at the foundation's internal processes.

Analytical commentary from Cryptalist: The departure of key figures from the Ethereum Foundation is not a crisis, but rather a sign of natural governance evolution. However, if the trend continues, the community should expect a more formalized leadership structure, which in the long term could even enhance transparency.
