TradFi trading on Gate soared from zero to $1.5 billion per day: what is driving this growth?

The analytical service CryptoOnchain has recorded an unusually rapid surge in trading volumes of traditional financial assets (TradFi) on the crypto exchange Gate.com. According to the analysis, within just one year, the daily peak trading volume of these instruments grew from nearly zero to an impressive $1.5 billion. The record figure was reached on March 23, 2026.

This breakthrough is not a coincidence. On that day, Gate.com processed a larger volume of traditional assets than Bybit, Bitget, and WOO combined. But more importantly, the structure of these flows indicates profound changes in user behavior. Platform participants are exhibiting the behavior of experienced macro traders, not random speculators.

Capital Rotation: From Stocks to Safe-Haven Assets

The data clearly shows a capital rotation pattern. When stock trading volumes declined, capital did not leave the platform but smoothly flowed into safe-haven assets. Trading turnover in precious metals skyrocketed by a massive 719%. The accumulated volume for gold (XAU) reached $16.8 billion, and for silver — $16.3 billion. Peak activity in stocks synchronized with Wall Street earnings seasons. This is direct evidence that traders are responding to real market catalysts, not random movements.

Among the stock lineup, tokenized shares of Tesla (TSLAX) led with a turnover of $1.68 billion, followed by Nvidia (NVDAX) at $1.06 billion and Circle (CRCLX) at $1.04 billion. These instruments were the most popular among platform users.

A Unified Ecosystem for Different Asset Classes

A key feature is the seamless integration of different asset classes. A trader can open a long position on Nvidia during earnings season and, when uncertainty rises, instantly switch to tokenized gold without leaving the platform or turning to a traditional broker. All settlements are conducted in the stablecoin USDT. This unites trading in stocks, metals, and oil within a single environment where capital freely flows between instruments depending on market conditions.

Instead of pitting cryptocurrencies against traditional finance, Gate.com is building a unified environment for different assets. While competitors chase raw volume, this platform has bet on infrastructure for more sophisticated traders.

Expert opinion: The growth of TradFi volumes on Gate points to a deeper trend — the blurring of boundaries between crypto and traditional markets. This is not just an expansion of functionality, but the creation of a full-fledged hub for capital management. If other exchanges follow this example, we may see a new wave of institutional adoption of crypto infrastructure as the primary interface for all types of investments.
