A Claude Code leak hints at the return of the Fable 5 model.

During a routine analysis of the Claude Code codebase version 2.1.190, I discovered strings indicating the presence of a weekly limit for the Fable 5 model under a subscription. This finding is not a coincidence — it indicates that developers are actively preparing the infrastructure for deploying this model.
After checking the macOS package downloaded from the npm repository, I confirmed the presence of these strings in the executable code. It is important to emphasize: the mere detection of such references does not guarantee the imminent return of Fable 5 to production. However, it clearly indicates that the interface for managing subscriptions and limits is already in active development and testing.
As of now, the Claude status page continues to display the suspension of Fable 5 since June 13, and the restoration date has not yet been announced. This creates intrigue: on one hand, we see technical preparation; on the other, official communication is absent.
From my professional perspective, this situation is typical of a closed beta testing or gradual rollout phase. Developers are likely testing quota and billing mechanisms before officially announcing the model's return. Investors and users should closely monitor updates to the status page — that is where the first official confirmation will appear.
