HYPE Analysis: Hyperliquid's Growth Potential to $319 by 2028 — Breakdown of the Multicoin Model

The crypto community is accustomed to viewing Hyperliquid (HYPE) solely as a rapidly growing platform for trading perpetual contracts. However, as recent analytical reports show, the project's ecosystem is transforming into something much larger — a full-fledged universal trading platform. My analysis confirms that the market is currently underestimating this transition.

According to a conservative model based on a 20x multiplier to expected net profit, the target price for HYPE by 2028 could be $319. This represents a 406% increase from the current level of around $63. For comparison: even in a bearish scenario, the token is valued at $109 (+73%), and in a bullish scenario, at $689 (+993%).

How is the forecast formed?

The base scenario is built on four key assumptions: an average annual growth rate of crypto derivatives volume of 35%, a decentralized exchange market share in this segment of 32%, Hyperliquid's market share of 30%, and proportional growth in USDC volume. As a result, by 2028, Hyperliquid could generate approximately $8 billion in annual net profit.

With an estimated token supply of around 502 million, the project's market capitalization would reach $160 billion. This is comparable to the early years of Binance, which transformed from a newcomer into a leading centralized exchange within six months. However, unlike Binance, Hyperliquid is building a decentralized infrastructure, which adds both advantages and risks.

Risks and current dynamics

It is worth noting that the forecast emerged amid a correction in HYPE along with the market. The token reached an all-time high of $76.7 on June 16, after which it began to decline. At the time of publication, the price was holding at around $63, which is 0.26% lower than the previous day.

Key uncertainty factors include the regulatory environment, Hyperliquid's validator structure, and the monthly token unlock for the team. These aspects could significantly impact the realization of even the most conservative scenario.

My expert opinion: The Multicoin model looks ambitious but not without logic. Hyperliquid is indeed demonstrating a unique growth dynamic reminiscent of Binance's rise in 2017. However, investors should consider that decentralized platforms face different challenges — from liquidity management to competition from traditional CEXs. Growth to $319 is possible but requires flawless execution of the roadmap and a favorable macroeconomic environment.
