Hyperliquid (HYPE): Analysts forecast a 400% growth by 2028 — a fundamental revaluation or just another hype?
The market seems to have grown accustomed to viewing Hyperliquid (HYPE) solely as a noisy platform for perpetual contract trading. However, a closer look at the fundamentals reveals that the project's ecosystem is transforming into something far more significant. According to my calculations and analytical modeling data, by 2028, the value of HYPE could surge by more than 400% from current levels.
Target Price: $319 per Token
The base scenario assumes that the HYPE rate will reach the $319 mark. This represents a 406% increase from the current price of around $63. Where do these figures come from? It all hinges on the project's projected net profit, which, according to a conservative estimate, could amount to approximately $8 billion by 2028. Applying a multiplier of 20 to this profit and considering the issuance of 502 million tokens, we arrive at the target price.
I would like to emphasize that this forecast is not a fantasy. It is built on four key and fairly conservative assumptions: an average annual growth rate of 35% in the crypto derivatives market volume, a 32% share of decentralized exchanges in this segment, a 30% share for Hyperliquid itself, and a proportional growth in USDC volumes.
Bullish and Bearish Scenarios: From $109 to $689
Of course, the market does not tolerate linearity. Therefore, alternative scenarios have also been calculated. The bearish scenario, with more modest dynamics, values HYPE at $109 (a 73% increase). The bullish scenario, however, looks truly impressive: if the project's net profit reaches $17.3 billion, the token price could jump to $689, equivalent to a growth of nearly 1000%.
Some draw parallels between Hyperliquid's current dynamics and Binance's early years. Indeed, Binance transformed from a newcomer into a leader among centralized exchanges in just six months in 2017. Hyperliquid may be following a similar path, but this time in the decentralized segment.
Risks That Cannot Be Ignored
However, like any asset with a 400%+ potential, HYPE also carries significant risks. Key factors of uncertainty remain the regulatory environment, the network's validator structure, and the monthly token unlocks for the team. As of now, after updating its all-time high at $76.7 on June 16, the asset has corrected and is trading near $63.
My professional opinion: The forecast looks ambitious but not unfounded. Hyperliquid is indeed showing signs of transitioning from a niche product to a universal platform. However, such aggressive targets require not only growth in the derivatives market but also flawless execution of the roadmap by the team itself. Investors should closely monitor the platform's adoption rates and revenue structure, not just the token price.
