The crypto-fiat exchange market in Russia is undergoing fundamental changes. By 2026, the P2P model, which previously dominated the segment, has faced serious challenges: banks are tightening anti-fraud controls, and regulators are demanding transparency. As a result, market participants are seeking alternatives that minimize the risk of account freezes while maintaining customer convenience.

The P2P Problem: Why Banks Block Transfers

The P2P model is based on direct exchanges between individuals. The buyer transfers rubles to the seller, and the exchange acts as a guarantor. However, for banks, such transactions appear suspicious: regular incoming payments from multiple senders, fragmented amounts, and recurring operations are typical signs not only of crypto exchanges but also of cash-out schemes. As a result, anti-fraud systems are triggered, and the bank either blocks the transaction or requests documents proving the source of funds.

The draft law on new crypto market rules exacerbates the situation: exchanges will need to maintain a turnover of at least 3.5 million rubles per month, or they will be removed from the registry. This encourages a shift to "white" models, where the fiat portion of the transaction goes through a settlement organizer rather than between individuals.

The SkyCapital Model: Exchange via SBP Without P2P

SkyCapital's solution offers an alternative — crypto-fiat exchange through the Faster Payments System (SBP) with integrated banking infrastructure. The user buys or sells cryptocurrency for rubles, and fiat settlements are conducted by the platform's legal entity, not between individuals. This eliminates transfers from random counterparties and reduces the number of fragmented amount operations — the main reasons for account freezes.

The service mechanics are similar to an exchange: an order book is available, instant exchange of up to 2000 USDT at market rate, and limit orders. Pairs with the ruble are supported: BTC, ETH, USDT, and USDC. Each client undergoes KYC, and AML scoring is performed through the BitOK service, which analyzes 39 risk categories, including sanctions, darknet, and mixers.

White Label and API: Two Connection Formats

SkyCapital offers two integration options. The first is a turnkey white label: a ready-made exchange under the partner's brand within 7–14 days. The launch cost is $4000, with monthly support at $600. The second is API integration for existing exchanges with their own website and team. Connection is free, but technical support costs $400 per month.

In both cases, SkyCapital handles transaction execution, settlements, technical infrastructure, and KYC/AML. The partner earns from the difference between SkyCapital's base rates (2% on purchases, 1.5% on sales) and their own commission for clients.

Limitations and Prospects

The solution is focused on the Russian market and is not suitable for international or anonymous transactions. The API is not designed for starting from scratch — the white label exists for that purpose. However, demand for "white" exchange models is growing, and SkyCapital is embedding itself in this trend as an infrastructure provider.

My Analysis: The SkyCapital model is a logical response to tightening regulation. It allows market participants to legalize exchanges, reduce operational risks, and focus on marketing without investing millions in developing their own infrastructure. However, success depends on partners' willingness to operate within KYC/AML frameworks and abandon anonymity, which may deter part of the audience.
