Eric Chen, head of the Injective project, recently raised this pressing issue, pointing to a worrying trend — users increasingly demand high throughput, pushing developers toward compromises.
As Chen notes, centralization does simplify scaling, allowing networks to process more transactions per second and reduce latency. However, this approach carries a hidden threat: creating a single point of failure. In the event of a failure or attack on a centralized node, the entire network could be at risk, contradicting the very idea of a distributed ledger.
According to the expert, the solution to this problem lies in the use of dedicated zones and second-layer networks (L2). Such solutions allow offloading the main chain while preserving its decentralized nature.
