The blockchain industry continues to amaze with its scale, and SUI once again confirms its status as one of the highest-performance solutions. During a public stress test conducted on July 4 on the mainnet, the Sui blockchain demonstrated a phenomenal result: peak throughput reached 6,086,766 transactions per second (TPS). For comparison, the maximum performance of the Visa payment system is about 65,000 TPS — meaning SUI surpassed it by nearly 100 times.

It is worth emphasizing that the test was open: anyone could join and observe the process. According to data from analyst Rypto, AI agents created real load, simulating scenarios from games, payments, and decentralized applications. This was not a laboratory experiment but a simulation of real-world conditions.

What did the test actually show?

However, there is an important nuance here that requires honest interpretation. As Rypto notes, these 6 million TPS are not native transactions directly on the blockchain. In normal mode, the SUI mainnet operates at the level of several hundred TPS. The secret to this breakthrough is the Sui Tunnels technology, programmable state channels with zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs.

A user opens a channel with one on-chain transaction, after which millions of interactions occur off-chain — instantly and without fees. The final state is then returned to the blockchain, and ZK proofs confirm its correctness. Critics rightly point out that comparing off-chain TPS with native TPS is incorrect, and there is logic to this.

Nevertheless, the technology is impressive. Rypto emphasizes: "6 million TPS is not needed now," but users require applications that "feel instantaneous." This refers to the operation of AI agents at machine speed, real-time games, and micropayments. The idea resembles Bitcoin's Lightning Network, but according to the expert's assessment, it is noticeably more powerful and suitable for any type of application.

Technical view on SUI price

From a technical perspective, the SUI price is currently testing a key resistance of the downtrend around $0.74. Analyst Master of Crypto notes that a breakout of this level could send the price to the $0.85–0.93 range. In case of a pullback, the support zone to watch is $0.68–0.70.

Notably, SUI has already surpassed the important milestone of 2.5 million TPS on the mainnet using programmable Lightning Tunnels channels. The "agent race" has begun, and the coming days could be decisive for the course of this digital asset.

My expert opinion: SUI's metrics are impressive, but it should not be forgotten that off-chain solutions are a compromise between speed and decentralization. The Sui Tunnels technology is a powerful tool for scaling, but the real test for the network will come when millions of users start making native transactions on the blockchain without off-chain channels. For now, the market is assessing the potential, and if a bullish breakout of $0.74 occurs, we could see a new wave of interest in SUI.
