The year 2026 was a landmark year for the Real World Assets (RWA) market in cryptocurrency. According to my data, the total trading volume of tokenized real-world assets on centralized exchanges approached the $1 trillion mark. The key beneficiary of this growth was Binance, which accounted for 60.9% of the total turnover.
Analysis shows that Binance's dominance was particularly pronounced in the RWA perpetual contracts segment. Here, the exchange processed nearly $450 billion, capturing 59.4% of the market. The platform actively expanded its product lineup, adding contracts for gold, silver, oil, and stocks, effectively transforming it into a central liquidity hub for traditional assets on-chain.
However, Binance's leadership is not limited to RWA. In spot cryptocurrency trading, its share among CEXs is 25.9%, and in the derivatives market, it is 37%. This indicates systemic business resilience, rather than a temporary surge of interest in a single sector.
An important quality indicator is market depth. In the first quarter of 2026, Binance maintained a Bitcoin depth of over $10 million almost daily, showing minimal deviation from the benchmark index. This is critically important for institutional traders who need confidence in executing large orders.
The platform's financial metrics are also impressive: approximately $145 billion in user assets, $280 billion processed through Binance Pay, and $1.2 billion distributed through the Binance Earn program in 2025. With 316 million registered users, Binance surpasses Robinhood, eToro, Webull, and Revolut combined in terms of reach.
My expert assessment: The RWA market is not just a passing trend, but a fundamental shift in liquidity. The fact that Binance has captured over 60% of this segment indicates that the platform is successfully converting its infrastructure and user base into a monopoly position at the intersection of TradFi and DeFi. However, such concentration also carries risks: regulators will inevitably pay attention to the systemic importance of a single player in such a rapidly growing sector.
