The Lighter Network (LIT) and the Mantle Protocol (MNT) have recorded a surge in large transactions, the highest in the last six months. On-chain metrics indicate renewed interest from institutional players and large holders amid altcoin volatility.
Data from Santiment shows a sharp increase in the number of LIT transactions exceeding $100,000 — 86 such operations were recorded. This is the highest figure since the beginning of the year. The surge in activity coincided with a dynamic rise in the token's price: on Monday, LIT soared over 20%, reaching $2.6 — its highest since January. The weekly increase was about 37.9%.
The key catalyst was the update to Lighter's tokenomics. Last month, the team implemented a token burning mechanism, which directly reduces the circulating supply of LIT. Additionally, staking conditions were revised: holders can now earn 6% annual interest from a pool of 250 million LIT. This creates a strong incentive for holding and accumulating coins, which attracted the attention of major players.
Simultaneously, a similar trend is observed in the Mantle ecosystem. Santiment recorded 37 large MNT transactions exceeding $100,000 — also a six-month high. Whale interest is fueled by the rapid growth of the tokenized real-world assets (RWA) segment.
According to Mantle's first-half report, the ecosystem reached historical highs. The total value locked (TVL) in DeFi exceeded $1 billion, of which $90 million came from RWA solutions. The market capitalization of stablecoins on the platform hit a record, reaching $955 million — a 120% annual increase. The network now supports 155 tokenized stocks and manages a treasury of over $1.8 billion.
However, despite fundamental successes, the price of MNT remains under pressure from the overall market backdrop. Over the past day, the token fell by 2% to $0.431, and lost about 11% over the month. Nevertheless, there was a slight gain of 1.4% over the past week.
Analytical commentary from Cryptalist: The activation of whales in Lighter and Mantle is a clear signal that large capital sees long-term value in these projects. The update to LIT's tokenomics and the growth of the RWA sector in Mantle are not just hype, but concrete mechanisms creating scarcity and utility. However, whether this interest will persist amid the overall market correction is a big question. We are currently witnessing a classic struggle between fundamental strength and macroeconomic pressure. Keep an eye on the volume of large transactions: if it continues to grow, it will be a reliable bullish indicator.
