Singapore continues to strengthen its position as a global hub for quantum technology. The venture capital fund QAI Ventures has officially launched the city-state's first quantum accelerator — the Singapore Quantum Accelerator. The five-month program has received support from the government agency Enterprise Singapore, underscoring the country's strategic focus on developing this sector.
The accelerator's first cohort includes four startups selected from 63 applications received from 12 countries worldwide. Competition was fierce, and only projects capable of offering real technological breakthroughs made it to the finals. Participants include Quantum Logic (Netherlands) with cryogenic equipment for quantum systems, Qualia Therapeutics (Armenia) working on adaptive neurostimulation, QPICs (USA) specializing in photonic chip manufacturing, and Regenesis Materials (Indonesia) with solutions in next-generation sustainable materials.
Each selected startup will receive an investment package of 300,000 Singapore dollars (approximately $232,000). However, funding is only part of the deal. The program provides personalized mentorship, access to quantum infrastructure, cloud resources, and direct contact with corporate partners. This creates a unique environment for commercializing DeepTech solutions targeting the Asia-Pacific market.
QAI Ventures CEO Alexandra Beckstein noted that Singapore bet on quantum technology "early and patiently," and this foundation is now transforming into real commercial opportunities. Enterprise Singapore Executive Director Sophia Ng added that the next step is to build globally competitive quantum companies.
This launch is not an isolated move. At the end of 2025, Singapore-based Horizon Quantum already commissioned the country's first commercial quantum computer, aimed at accelerating developments in pharmaceuticals and finance. In June 2026, the ASPIRE 2B supercomputer was launched to support research in AI and high-performance computing. Concurrently, Enterprise Singapore introduced a standardization roadmap, with AI and quantum technologies becoming priority areas.
My comment as an analyst: Singapore demonstrates a systematic approach rarely seen in the field of quantum computing. Instead of piecemeal investments, the country is building an ecosystem — from fundamental research to commercial applications. For the crypto industry, this is a signal — quantum technologies will inevitably impact blockchain security, and jurisdictions that prepare for this in advance will gain a competitive advantage.
