The morning of July 10th sees the crypto market predominantly in positive territory. Bitcoin (BTC) started the day with confident growth and, at the time of analysis, is trading near the $64,044 mark, having set a 24-hour low of $62,190 and a high of $63,992. Ethereum is also showing an upward trend, reaching $1,774. In the top 10 by market cap, all assets are in the green over the past day, although Solana and Dogecoin have slightly declined over the week. The best performer over the day is BTC itself (+2.93%), while TRON confidently leads the week (+4.51%). Among the top 100, DeXe stands out with an impressive 16.48% daily gain and 46.22% weekly gain, whereas the largest losses are recorded for Audiera (-27.50% over the week).

Polymarket Takes a Step Towards Margin Trading in the US

Prediction market platform Polymarket has filed an application with the National Futures Association (NFA) to register as a Futures Commission Merchant (FCM). This move paves the way for introducing margin trading, allowing users to place bets on events by depositing only a portion of the required capital. The documents were submitted on July 3rd, and full launch of leveraged trading will also require approval from the CFTC. Interestingly, Polymarket's competitor, the Kalshi platform, already received NFA approval as an FCM back in March 2026. This points to growing competition in the segment of regulated prediction markets.

Zcash Network Prepares for Ironwood Hard Fork

The Zcash team has announced that the long-awaited Ironwood network upgrade is scheduled for July 28th. The update aims to fix a critical bug discovered in May in the main Orchard private transaction pool. Ironwood will close the current pool, lock new activity within it, and create a new private pool. Funds leaving Orchard will pass through an accounting checkpoint to determine if fake ZEC tokens were created due to the bug. Previously, Shielded Labs proposed delaying the update, fearing that bridges, mining pools, and wallets would not be ready in time; ultimately, the launch was pushed back by a week from the original date of July 21st.

Bitwise: DeFi Shows Anomalous Resilience

Analysts at Bitwise have noted unusual dynamics in the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector. In June, when Bitcoin fell by approximately 22%, the Bitwise index tracking major DeFi protocols declined by only 4%. This sharply contrasts with DeFi's historical volatility, which typically far exceeds BTC's movements. According to experts, such resilience may indicate a "quiet revaluation" of the sector. Protocols like Morpho and Jupiter are attracting attention from major institutions, and despite the total value locked (TVL) in DeFi falling nearly 40% since the start of the year—from $115 billion to just over $70 billion—the fundamental resilience of the tokens suggests a shift in market sentiment.

My comment: The anomalous resilience of DeFi tokens amid the broader downturn is indeed a significant signal. If previously they were the first to be dumped at the slightest correction, we are now seeing the formation of a new base of holders, possibly more long-term and institutional. The "quiet revaluation" could evolve into a full-fledged bullish trend for the sector once the macroeconomic situation stabilizes.
