Cardano blockchain platform founder Charles Hoskinson has officially and categorically denied rumors circulating online about his departure from the project. In an exclusive video message published this week, he called these claims absolute fiction with no basis whatsoever.
According to Hoskinson, the creators of clickbait videos and fake news use quotes taken out of context and create emotional clips solely to collect likes and views. They baselessly claim that the founder considers Cardano a failed project. However, reality, as Hoskinson emphasizes, is the exact opposite.
The rumors spread unexpectedly widely, far beyond crypto Twitter. Hoskinson said that even a London taxi driver was seriously relaying information to his passengers about an imminent change in project leadership. Similar misinformation reached the CEOs of major partner organizations, requiring a direct refutation.
Direct Address to the Community
"This is categorically untrue. It is a complete lie. It is a fabrication from start to finish," Hoskinson stated, urging project supporters to share his video with those who continue to spread these rumors. The video, he said, serves as irrefutable proof of his active involvement in the ecosystem's development.
A Difficult Period for Cardano
The denial came during a rather challenging period for the project. As of today, the ADA price is under serious pressure. The coin is trading around $0.16, approximately 94% below its all-time high in 2021 when the price reached $3.09. The network has also faced a governance crisis. Well-known investor Justin Bons called for Hoskinson to step down, which triggered a strong reaction from the community.
However, not all news was negative. This month has seen growth in the number of Cardano wallets, despite ADA failing to hold above local lows. Hoskinson also proposed governance reforms to restore trust in the project and strengthen its decentralized structure.
General State of the Altcoin Market
Cardano's problems reflect the overall stagnation in the alternative cryptocurrency segment. The altcoin sector is still unable to break free from the total influence of the market's flagship. Bitcoin dominance remains stable at around 58%, testing an important support level formed back in August 2025. The popular Altcoin Season Index is currently at 45. For a full trend reversal, this indicator needs to exceed the 75-point threshold. The Fear and Greed Index continues to indicate a predominance of panic sentiment among investors.
Cryptalist Analysis: Such rumors are a classic example of FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt), which often arises in bear markets. Hoskinson skillfully and quickly stopped the misinformation, which speaks to the team's maturity. Nevertheless, Cardano's fundamental problems, including the price drop and governance challenges, remain. The market is waiting not for words, but for concrete actions capable of returning ADA to the top ranks.
