Cardano blockchain platform founder Charles Hoskinson was forced to publicly refute recent rumors about his departure from the project. In an urgent video message published this week, he called these claims absolute fiction and part of a targeted disinformation campaign.
According to Hoskinson, the creators of clickbait videos use quotes taken out of context and create emotional clips solely to collect likes and views. They baselessly claim that the founder has become disillusioned with Cardano and considers the project a failure. However, the reality, he says, is diametrically opposite.
Disinformation Reaches Absurd Levels
The situation took an unexpected turn. As Hoskinson himself recounted, the rumors have penetrated so deeply into public consciousness that even London taxi drivers are seriously discussing with passengers an imminent change in Cardano's leadership. Moreover, representatives of partner companies have encountered similar disinformation, which reached the level of CEOs at large organizations.
"This is categorically untrue. This is a complete lie. This is a fabrication from beginning to end," Hoskinson emphasized.
The project founder urged supporters to actively share his video with those repeating these rumors. He insists that the clip clearly confirms his direct and active involvement in the ecosystem's development.
A Difficult Period for Cardano
The refutation comes amid an extremely challenging time for the project. The ADA price is under serious pressure: at the time of writing this review, the coin is trading around $0.16, approximately 94% below its all-time high of $3.09 in 2021.
The network has also faced a governance crisis. Investor Justin Bons publicly called for Hoskinson to step down, which provoked a harsh reaction from the community. However, not all news is negative. This month has seen an increase in the number of Cardano wallets, despite ADA failing to hold above local lows. Hoskinson himself has also proposed a governance reform to restore trust in the project.
General State of the Altcoin Market
Cardano's problems reflect the overall stagnation in the alternative cryptocurrency segment. The altcoin sector still cannot break free from the total influence of the market's flagship. Bitcoin dominance is steadily holding at around 58%, testing an important support level formed back in August 2025. The altcoin season index stands at 45, and for a full trend reversal, it needs to exceed the 75-point threshold. The fear and greed index indicates a predominance of panic sentiment among investors.
Cryptalist Analytical Conclusion: Attempts to discredit the founder through fake news are a classic sign of FUD in a bear market. However, the very fact that Cardano's leadership has to spend time refuting absurd rumors from taxi drivers speaks to a serious crisis of communication and trust within the community. Until fundamental metrics and the ADA price show a sustained reversal, such information attacks will continue to pressure holder sentiment.
