Blockchain security company SlowMist has made a significant breakthrough in the fight against crypto crime by integrating the AI agent TrackAgent into its free stolen asset assessment service. This solution fundamentally changes the approach to investigating incidents where stolen funds can pass through dozens of wallets in a matter of minutes.
How TrackAgent Works
TrackAgent is essentially an on-chain detective powered by artificial intelligence. The user provides the system with key data: the victim's address, the attacker's address, the transaction hash, the type and amount of stolen assets, and the time of the incident. The agent then not only extracts data from the blockchain but builds a complete picture of the movement of funds, tracking their path step by step.
The system's special feature is its ability to analyze the holistic picture rather than individual operations. When digital assets pass through exchanges, decentralized exchanges (DEXs), cross-chain bridges, mixers, or aggregator addresses, the agent identifies these key nodes. Even when tokens are split, exchanged, or recombined, TrackAgent continues to monitor the flows rather than stopping at a single operation.
Multi-Level Reconnaissance and Data Correlation
At the core of TrackAgent is multi-level reconnaissance. The system combines on-chain labels, indicators of compromise, and its own threat intelligence data. This allows it to instantly determine whether a theft is linked to a drainer, a fake wallet, a pig butchering scheme, or, for example, the Lazarus hacking group.
The key innovation is the automatic correlation of funds across multiple attacker addresses. Instead of analyzing each wallet individually, the agent builds a single flow graph, identifying common collection points, withdrawal routes, and the laundering infrastructure used. This significantly speeds up investigations and improves accuracy.
Scale and Industry Significance
TrackAgent supports 31 blockchains, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, TRON, and the EVM ecosystem with layer 2 (L2) solutions. This broad support allows tracking the most common theft scenarios: from Bitcoin UTXO model transactions to stablecoin transfers on TRON and asset movements in EVM networks.
The integration builds on SlowMist's years of experience. The company launched its first stolen asset tracking service back in March 2021, and has been accepting online applications from victims since November 2022. Over four years, more than 12,000 requests have been processed.
Expert Perspective
The implementation of TrackAgent is not just a technical update but a paradigm shift in crypto investigations. Manual analysis, which previously required significant time and human resources, is now automated. Experienced analysts can focus on verifying results and handling complex cases, while the speed of initial incident response increases many times over. However, it is worth remembering that even the most advanced AI agent does not guarantee fund recovery: the final outcome still depends on the willingness of platforms to respond, the policies of stablecoin issuers, and applicable legal procedures.
