The crypto compliance sector is experiencing a true boom. According to my data, total funding in this area reached an all-time high of $313 million in 2026. This means that in just three years, investments have increased more than 12-fold — an impressive figure that points to fundamental shifts in the industry's priorities.
The dynamics of recent years confirm this trend. In 2023, the investment volume was a modest $25.5 million. In 2024, it grew to $38.5 million. However, the real breakthrough occurred in 2025, when funding surged to $236 million. And in 2026, a new record was set at $313 million.
What is driving this growth? In my view, the key driver is the rapid spread of AI-based fraud schemes. AI threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and on-chain applications are particularly vulnerable to them. It is precisely the need for protection against such attacks that is fueling demand for solutions in auditing, fraud analytics, and compliance.
The place of compliance in the overall funding landscape
Despite record growth rates, the compliance sector remains a relatively small segment compared to the overall market. For comparison: over the past three months, the exchange sector led in fundraising with $2 billion. It is followed by prediction markets ($1 billion) and AI projects ($825 million). Blockchain projects raised $607 million, and payment solutions raised $509 million.
The compliance sector raised $184 million over the same period, placing it in the middle of the list, for example, below DeFi ($371 million). This clearly demonstrates that despite its impressive annual dynamics, in absolute terms, the sector still lags behind the largest categories.
The overall picture of crypto market funding remains volatile. In June 2026, the entire market raised about $1.44 billion across 61 rounds. For comparison, in May, this figure was $3.89 billion — the best result in 12 months.
My professional opinion: The growth in compliance investments is not just a trend but a necessity. As regulation tightens and AI-driven threats become a reality, projects that do not pay due attention to security and regulatory compliance risk being left behind. We are witnessing the formation of a mature infrastructure that will become the standard for the entire industry in the coming years.
