Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSMC), the global leader in contract semiconductor manufacturing, reported its June 2026 results, showing truly impressive performance. The company's revenue reached 442.68 billion New Taiwan Dollars (NTD), equivalent to $13.78 billion.

This figure marked the highest monthly growth since the start of 2026, with an increase of 67.9% compared to June of the previous year. The main catalyst was the rapidly growing demand for chips for artificial intelligence (AI) systems.

Quarterly Results and Trends

For the second quarter of 2026, TSMC's total revenue amounted to 1.27 trillion NTD ($39.62 billion), exceeding the average analyst forecast of 1.264 trillion NTD. For comparison, sales in May rose by 6.2% relative to April, and in June by another 6.2% relative to May. The month-over-month trend shows acceleration: June's year-over-year surge of 67.9% significantly outpaces February's 22.2% and April's 17.5%.

In the first half of 2026, TSMC earned 2.4 trillion NTD ($74.99 billion). This is 35.6% more than in the same period of 2025 and accounts for about 63% of the total annual revenue from last year (3.81 trillion NTD). It is evident that clients are actively shifting orders to earlier dates, trying to reserve capacity for their AI projects.

Market Dominance and Outlook

TSMC holds about 73% of the global contract chip manufacturing market as of the first quarter. However, the company does not disclose profit and profitability data in its monthly reports. The quarterly report will be published on Thursday, July 16. According to the LSEG consensus forecast, analysts expect net profit for the second quarter to grow by 58.8%.

The key question for investors is the management's guidance. All attention is focused on two points: whether TSMC will raise its annual growth forecast above the current 30% and whether it will increase capital expenditures. We will find out the answers this week. Along with them, the new possible ceiling for AI infrastructure spending will become clearer. In my view, the current data unequivocally indicates that the AI chip boom is far from over, and TSMC remains the main beneficiary of this technological race.
