The governments of Vietnam and Singapore have announced a joint initiative to establish the Vietnam Advanced Manufacturing Research Center (VAMRC). This project marks a strategic step in strengthening technological cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the field of advanced manufacturing solutions.
The primary objective of VAMRC is to develop and test key technologies of the future: automation of production processes, industrial robotics, artificial intelligence (AI) systems for factories, as well as "green" energy-efficient solutions. The center will serve as a testing ground where innovations will undergo validation before being scaled and implemented in real-world enterprises.
Among the strategic partners of the project is the Singaporean corporation Sembcorp, known for its expertise in sustainable infrastructure, as well as the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) — an existing industrial cluster that will provide a natural environment for deploying VAMRC's developments.
This move reflects a global trend: Southeast Asian countries are actively seeking to diversify their economies, moving away from reliance on cheap labor toward high-tech manufacturing. For the cryptocurrency and blockchain sector, this is also a signal: the development of industrial AI and automation will inevitably lead to increased demand for decentralized solutions for supply chain management, data verification, and smart contracts for "smart" factories.
Expert opinion: The creation of VAMRC is not just a political declaration, but a pragmatic response to the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In the long term, such centers will become catalysts for the adoption of blockchain solutions in industry, especially in terms of asset tokenization and automation of settlements between participants in production chains.
