The governments of Vietnam and Singapore have officially announced the launch of the joint project Vietnam Advanced Manufacturing Research Center (VAMRC). This ambitious hub will become a key platform for developing and testing advanced technologies in automation, industrial artificial intelligence, robotics, and green solutions — before their large-scale implementation on production lines.

Strategic Partnership for a Technological Breakthrough

The initiative is being implemented with the participation of entities such as Sembcorp and the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP). VAMRC is expected to serve as a bridge between laboratory research and the real economy, allowing companies to test innovations in controlled conditions before investing in their full-scale deployment. This is particularly important for industries where errors during the implementation phase can lead to significant financial losses.

For the crypto and blockchain community, this move also carries a hidden signal: automation and AI agents, which are increasingly penetrating DeFi and asset management, require reliable industrial standards. VAMRC could become the testing ground where algorithms are refined, which will later form the basis of autonomous smart contracts and robotic advisors.

My Expert Opinion

The creation of VAMRC is not just another infrastructure project, but a clear signal to the market: Southeast Asia intends to take a leading position in the race for industrial AI and robotics. For investors, this means that in the next 2–3 years, we will see a surge of startups from this region focused on fusion AI and industrial automation. Those who are now laying the foundation in the form of such hubs will dictate the rules of the game in the era of Industry 5.0.
