Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) is launching a paid service called Truth API, which will provide major banks and hedge funds with direct access to Donald Trump's posts. This move fundamentally changes the rules of the game for traders accustomed to reacting to market movements manually.

Starting August 1, 2026, subscribers to the new service will be able to receive posts from Trump and other top Truth Social accounts with minimal delay. The list of tracked individuals, besides the president himself, includes his sons — Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump — as well as key supporters, including Dan Bongino and Sean Hannity. The data archive covers the period from 2022.

Why Speed is Everything

Trump's posts have already repeatedly caused sharp fluctuations in global markets. On April 9, 2025, his statement about a 90-day suspension of new tariffs led to an immediate rise in U.S. indices. Previously, similar effects were triggered by announcements about "Liberation Day" and threats of a trade war with China.

Acting CEO of TMTG, Kevin McGern, emphasized that the service is aimed at companies facing the greatest risks due to delays in receiving information. It's about milliseconds that could cost millions.

Ethical Conflict and Criticism

The situation appears even more acute given that Trump's family trust owns about 41% of TMTG shares. This means the content creator directly influences markets through a personal blog, and his family could potentially profit from this influence.

Senator Ron Wyden, chairman of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, has already criticized the API launch, calling it a tool for enriching the Trump family and "other Wall Street traders." He previously spoke about the "greed of the Trump family" amid reports of cryptocurrency earnings.

Robert Frenchman, a partner at the law firm Dynamis, noted that while different speeds of access to information may seem unfair, it does not violate federal securities laws. "The platform has the right to distribute information in its own way," he stated, adding that this approach widens the gap between large and small players.

TMTG has previously denied rumors about monetizing Truth Social, including the launch of a memecoin. Now the company officially states that Truth API is a response to actions by certain organizations that have been collecting data from the platform in violation of terms of service for several months.

Cryptalist Analysis: The launch of Truth API is not just the commercialization of a social network, but the legalization of an insider advantage at the infrastructure level. The market is entering an era where access to the "first click" becomes as valuable an asset as the data itself. For retail traders, this is a signal: playing on equal footing with large funds is becoming increasingly illusory.
