However, activating this feature requires passing a strict identity verification process through a third-party service, Jumio. The procedure includes a real-time selfie and a scan of an identifying document.
It is important to note the privacy policy stated by the company. TikTok claims it does not store copies of uploaded documents, and biometric data is used solely to find matches with content on the platform. This is critically important in the context of growing concerns over personal data leaks.

This step is a logical development of moderation policy in the era of generative AI.
