AI in Russian medicine: over 16 million images and reaching the federal level

Large-scale digitalization of healthcare in Russia is making a new leap. The artificial intelligence platform "MosMedAI" has reached the federal level, uniting over two thousand clinics from 75 regions of the country. The key result of the system's operation is the processing of over 16 million radiological studies.

The project, which originated in 2020 at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, was initially developed by the Moscow government together with specialists from the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine. In 2024, by order of President Vladimir Putin, regional clinics received free access to this development, which ensured such rapid scaling.

Strict Selection and Practical Benefits

During the platform's operation, experts tested about 70 different services. However, only the best solutions passed the rigorous selection — 18 proven AI services that today help doctors in daily clinical practice. Digital assistants do not replace the specialist but act as a powerful tool for primary analysis and identifying hidden threats.

Diagnostic Capabilities of Neural Networks
