Restructuring Strategy: Strategy converts BTC into $108.6 million to buy back STRC

Strategy 2025

During the latest stage of capital optimization, Strategy carried out a large-scale conversion of its digital assets. Between August 3 and 9, the company sold 1,690 BTC, directing all proceeds toward repurchasing its own STRC convertible bonds. This operation brought in $108.6 million at an average sale price of $64,262 per coin, indicating a well-considered exit amid current market volatility.

In parallel, Strategy conducted an additional issuance of MSTR shares, placing 6.59 million securities worth $653.1 million. Of this amount, $650 million was reinvested to strengthen the dollar reserve, which now stands at $4.65 billion. Such liquidity diversification demonstrates the company's commitment to maintaining flexibility in managing liabilities while simultaneously building a strategic buffer for potential market corrections.

As of August 9, Strategy's aggregate portfolio totals 840,447 BTC, acquired for $63.36 billion. This confirms the company's long-term course toward accumulating the leading cryptocurrency, despite tactical sales to service debt instruments. The average cost basis of the asset remains stable, indicating high efficiency in entering positions throughout the entire cycle.

Expert perspective

Such operations are not a sign of weakening bullish sentiment, but rather a savvy arbitrage between the cost of capital and the potential return on BTC. Buying back STRC at current prices reduces the debt burden, while replenishing the dollar reserve creates a cushion for future purchases during drawdowns. In the long term, this strengthens the company's balance sheet, making it more resilient to external shocks.
