Between August 10 and 16, BitMine significantly expanded its cryptocurrency reserve, acquiring 9,926 ETH. This move confirms a strategic course toward long-term accumulation of the asset, despite market volatility. As of now, the company's total ether holdings have reached an impressive 5.81 million coins, equivalent to approximately 4.8% of the entire circulating supply of Ethereum.

The portfolio structure deserves special attention: about 87% of all held ETH is in staking. This indicates that BitMine is betting not just on storage, but on actively generating income through Proof-of-Stake mechanisms. Such capital allocation allows the company to generate passive income while simultaneously strengthening network security, which looks extremely rational in the long term.

In addition to digital asset operations, the firm conducted a buyback of 1.7 million of its own shares. Such a move typically signals high management confidence in its own financial performance and can positively impact the company's market capitalization. In conditions where many institutional players are showing caution, such an aggressive policy sets BitMine apart from competitors.

From my point of view, BitMine's actions are a classic example of institutional accumulation during a market correction. Increasing the staking share to 87% reduces reserve liquidity but simultaneously boosts their yield. If the price of ether continues to recover, the company will find itself in a winning position, having both capital appreciation and a steady stream of rewards. However, risks should also be considered: in the event of a sharp market decline, withdrawing funds from staking may take time, which could create temporary liquidity difficulties.
