The market for the leading cryptocurrency is holding its breath in anticipation. Analysts are recording abnormally low volatility in Bitcoin, which historically precedes powerful price movements. In my analysis of the current conditions, a clear pattern emerges: the longer the consolidation phase lasts, the more significant the subsequent impulse.

The 30-day trading range for BTC is currently at record lows. Such a "calm" has more than once served as a harbinger of sharp jumps. After studying eight similar periods of low volatility, I arrived at telling statistics: the median absolute price deviation over the following 60 days was around 30%.

It is important to understand: this indicator reflects only the scale of the future move, not its direction. In four of the eight cases, the price rose; in four, it fell. Given the current price around $64,000, the potential scenario suggests either a surge to $83,200 or a decline to $44,800.

Key Market Signals

Yesterday's nearly 2% rise in Bitcoin looks encouraging, but its nature raises questions. Open interest in futures fell by about 8% while the price rose—this is a classic sign of short covering, not new buyers entering. Such rallies tend to be fragile: in June and July, we already saw short-term gains quickly give way to corrections.

The main trigger for a reversal could be bond yields. If real yields continue to rise, this will put serious pressure on risk assets, including cryptocurrencies. In the current macroeconomic environment, I consider this factor decisive for BTC's further dynamics.

My verdict: the market is at a bifurcation point. The technical picture points to a high probability of a strong move, but fundamental factors have yet to provide a clear signal about its direction. Investors should prepare for increased volatility and avoid opening positions without a clear trading plan—the price could go either way.
