Swedish investment company H100 Group, which positions itself as a corporate bitcoin holder, has reported a significant deterioration in its financial performance. For the first six months of 2026, the net loss before tax reached 253 million Swedish kronor, equivalent to approximately $26 million. In the second quarter, losses amounted to 98 million kronor ($10.3 million), and virtually the entire amount is the result of a non-cash revaluation of the cryptocurrency reserve amid a decline in the bitcoin price.

It is important to emphasize: this is not about realizing a loss, but about an accounting adjustment to the value of assets. This is a typical situation for companies that hold digital gold on their balance sheets and are forced to follow strict reporting standards, reflecting market volatility in real time. Such fluctuations do not affect operational activities, but they create a false impression of financial instability in the business.

Aggressive expansion and reserve growth

Despite temporary valuation difficulties, H100 continues to build its cryptocurrency position. In August, the company completed a deal to acquire two Norwegian firms along with their bitcoin reserves. As a result, H100's total holdings increased to 3,506 BTC, valued at approximately $226 million at the current exchange rate. This move allowed the Swedish player to take second place among public bitcoin treasuries in Europe, trailing only recognized industry leaders.

H100's strategy is obvious: the company is making a long-term bet on bitcoin as a store of value, ignoring short-term price swings. This tactic is typical of institutional investors who view the first cryptocurrency not as a speculative instrument, but as a hedge against inflation and the devaluation of fiat currencies.

My expert view: A $26 million loss is not a reason for panic, but rather a marker that the market is in a correction phase. For companies like H100, the main risk is not volatility, but a loss of shareholder confidence. If the bitcoin price recovers, these paper losses will turn into profit, and the company's current position will prove extremely advantageous. The question is only the investors' patience horizon.
