The cryptocurrency neobank specializing in stablecoins, Fasset, has confidently joined the club of companies with a billion-dollar valuation. As part of a Series C round led by Japanese financial giant SBI Group, the project raised $68 million. The deal closed at a $1 billion valuation, automatically granting Fasset "unicorn" status — a rare achievement for the digital assets sector in the current market cycle.
The raised capital will be directed toward scaling key areas: developing its own Own Network infrastructure, as well as improving AI systems focused on cross-border settlements. A particular focus is expanding the lineup of stablecoins and tokenized assets, which are becoming increasingly in demand among institutional investors and corporate clients.
Strategic Funding Dynamics
It is worth noting that this is not the first major injection into the project this year. Back in May, Fasset closed a round of $51 million, which collectively brings the total funding raised for 2026 to $119 million. Such intensity of investment indicates high confidence from major players like SBI Group in the platform's long-term potential, especially in the B2B payments and stablecoin liquidity niche.
From my point of view, Fasset's success is yet another confirmation that the market is moving from speculative DeFi projects toward real financial solutions. Cross-border settlements and tokenization are areas where blockchain truly creates tangible value, reducing costs and transaction times. The $1 billion valuation looks fair if the team manages to maintain growth momentum and monetize Own Network amid growing competition from traditional banks and other crypto neobanks.
