On August 24, the crypto-ETF market demonstrated impressive dynamics: the total net inflow into spot bitcoin funds reached $337.6 million, while Ethereum products saw $116 million. However, the key driver of this movement was BlackRock, whose IBIT and ETHA funds attracted the lion's share of capital — $209 million and $90.92 million, respectively.
BlackRock concentrates flows
An analysis of the distribution of funds shows that IBIT accounted for about 62% of the entire daily inflow into bitcoin ETFs. This is not a coincidence, but a sustained trend: for several consecutive days, demand for the fund has remained consistently high, with a previously recorded inflow of $606 million — the highest level since May. Total net assets in spot bitcoin funds have now reached $79.16 billion, underscoring growing institutional appetite for the first cryptocurrency.
Ethereum funds: sixth day of growth
In the Ethereum ETF segment, the situation is similar: BlackRock's ETHA attracted $90.92 million out of the $116 million total inflow, accounting for about 78%. Second place went to Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust with $12.5 million. This momentum delivered the largest monthly inflow into Ethereum funds in the past ten months, indicating a gradual restoration of confidence in the altcoin after a prolonged consolidation.
At the time of analysis, bitcoin was trading near the $79,400 mark, while Ethereum lost about 2.2% over the day, falling to $2,473. Despite the ETH correction, inflows into funds continue to grow, suggesting a long-term investor strategy rather than short-term speculation.
BlackRock, managing $15.3 trillion in assets as of June 30, 2026, confidently maintains its status as the primary channel for institutional access to cryptocurrencies. Since the launch of bitcoin ETFs in January 2024, the company has consistently led in inflows, and current data only confirms this trend.
My expert view: The concentration of inflows into BlackRock products is not merely a market anomaly, but a signal that institutional players prefer the reliability and liquidity of the largest manager. The continuation of this trend is likely to strengthen the positions of BTC and ETH in the medium term, despite short-term volatility. Investors should monitor inflow volumes as an indicator of "smart money" sentiment.
