The cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has officially opened registration for the annual King's Cup Global Invitational (KCGI) 2026 tournament. This year, the organizers have radically expanded the competition format, increasing the prize pool to 3 million USDT. The main innovation is that for the first time, the tournament scoring includes not only crypto futures but also perpetual contracts on traditional assets, as well as tokenized shares of American companies.

The final size of the pool directly depends on the number of participants. At the time of my analysis, 18,355 traders have already registered for the competition, and the unlocked portion of the prizes amounts to 1.1 million USDT.

Three tracks — one battle

The competition is divided into three key segments, each with its own specifics:

  • Crypto futures — perpetual and delivery contracts with USDT margin. 600 trading pairs are available with leverage up to 125x.
  • TradFi Perpetuals — perpetual contracts on stocks, commodities, and precious metals. Leverage up to 100x, trading is available around the clock.
  • rToken — RWA tokens from the Reality platform supported by Bitget. Tokenized US stocks are backed by underlying securities at a 1:1 ratio and are traded directly for USDT.

Trading volume is calculated separately for each track, but profit and loss (PnL) are consolidated into a single leaderboard. Traders can focus on one segment or participate in all three simultaneously.

Bitget's management explains this expansion by the evolution of the market: modern traders are no longer limited to a single asset class. The exchange's CEO, Gracie Chen, emphasizes that cryptocurrencies, gold, and stocks are increasingly coexisting in a unified trading environment, and combining them in one tournament reflects the development vector of the entire industry.

Prize pool structure

The organizers have divided the rewards into six blocks:

  • 1 million USDT — team PnL for the top 30 teams;
  • 800,000 USDT — team trading volume (top 10 in each segment);
  • 200,000 USDT — individual PnL for the top 500 traders;
  • 600,000 USDT — "UEX Treasure Map" quests with keys, puzzles, and chests;
  • 300,000 USDT — bonuses for early participants and captains;
  • 100,000 USDT — live draw after the final.

The first three categories form the UEX Arena block worth 2 million USDT. A separate UEX Pioneer Captain Reward mechanic ranks teams by the number of participants trading across all three segments. The first 10,000 users who join a team before August 30 and meet the turnover requirement will receive 20 USDT each for futures trading.

Terms and deadlines

Participation requires a balance of at least 100 USDT and completed verification. Team formation will last until September 8, with a waiting list until September 17. The main stage will run from September 8 to 22, with rankings updated hourly. Final data will be recorded on September 22 at 20:00 (Kyiv/Moscow time), winners will be announced on September 24, and the awards ceremony will be held live on September 25.

Rewards in USDT will be credited within 14 business days after the final, while "Treasure Map" vouchers will be issued the day after winning. Winners will also receive KCGI 2026 merchandise, a gilded soccer ball, and a Bitget chess set.

Strategic context

The tournament has been held since 2021, but previously it was built exclusively around cryptocurrency instruments. The new format is a logical continuation of the Universal Exchange (UEX) concept introduced by Bitget in September 2025. The platform unifies cryptocurrencies, stocks, commodities, and the forex market into a single trading environment with a shared account.

Earlier, the exchange also launched a warm-up challenge, the "Battle of Longs and Shorts," with a prize pool of $75,000 in bitcoin and USDT, which will run from August 25 to September 9, 2026.

My analysis: Expanding KCGI to TradFi instruments is not just a marketing move but a clear signal of the convergence between the crypto market and classical finance. For traders, this is a unique opportunity to diversify strategies within a single competition, and for the industry, it is another step toward blurring the lines between digital and traditional assets. I recommend paying attention to the rToken segment: tokenized stocks with 1:1 backing could become an interesting hedging tool amid crypto market volatility.
