The Bitget exchange has officially opened registration for the annual King's Cup Global Invitational (KCGI) 2026 tournament. This year, the prize pool reaches 3 million USDT, and for the first time, not only cryptocurrency futures but also perpetual contracts on traditional assets and tokenized US stocks count toward the results.
The final size of the pool directly depends on the number of participants. At the time of analysis, 18,355 traders had already registered for the competition, and the unlocked portion of the prize pool stands at 1.1 million USDT.
Tournament structure: three tracks
The organizers have divided the competition into three key segments:
- Crypto futures — perpetual and delivery contracts with USDT margin, covering 600 trading pairs with leverage up to 125x.
- TradFi Perpetuals — perpetual contracts on stocks, commodities, and precious metals with leverage up to 100x and round-the-clock market access.
- rToken — RWA tokens from the Reality platform supported by Bitget. Tokenized US stocks are backed 1:1 by underlying securities and trade directly for USDT.
Trading volume is calculated separately for each track, but profit and loss (PnL) is consolidated into a single leaderboard. Participants can focus on one segment or actively work across all three.
The format expansion is a deliberate step reflecting market evolution. As Bitget's management emphasizes, traders are no longer tied to a single asset class. Cryptocurrencies, gold, and stocks increasingly coexist in a unified trading environment, and combining them in one tournament is a direct reflection of where the industry is heading. This convergence of TradFi and the crypto market preserves the competitive spirit that has always made crypto trading exciting.
Prize pool distribution
Rewards are divided into six blocks:
- 1 million USDT — team PnL, distributed among the top 30 teams;
- 800,000 USDT — team trading volume, with separate leaderboards in each segment (prizes for the top 10);
- 200,000 USDT — individual PnL for the top 500 traders;
- 600,000 USDT — "UEX Treasure Map" tasks with keys, puzzles, and chests;
- 300,000 USDT — bonuses for early participants and captains;
- 100,000 USDT — live draw after the final.
The top three categories form the UEX Arena block worth 2 million USDT. A separate UEX Pioneer Captain Reward mechanic ranks teams by the number of participants trading across all three segments simultaneously.
The first 10,000 users who join a team before 18:59 (Kyiv/MSC) on August 30 and meet the turnover requirement will receive 20 USDT each for futures trading.
Terms and deadlines
Participation requires a balance of at least 100 USDT and completed verification. Teams are formed until September 8, with a waiting list open until September 17. The main stage will run from September 8 to 22, with rankings updated hourly. Final data is recorded on September 22 at 20:00 (Kyiv/MSC), winners will be announced on September 24, and the awards ceremony will take place live on September 25.
USDT rewards are credited within 14 business days after the final, with "Treasure Map" vouchers issued the day after winning. Prizes are available in the "Coupon Center" for seven days. In addition to cash rewards, winners will receive KCGI 2026 merchandise, a gilded football, and a Bitget chess set.
Strategic context
The tournament has been held since 2021, but previously it was limited exclusively to cryptocurrency instruments. The new format is a continuation of the Universal Exchange (UEX) concept introduced by Bitget in September 2025 for its seventh anniversary. The idea is to combine cryptocurrencies, stocks, commodities, and the forex market into a single trading environment with a unified account.
Earlier, the exchange also launched a warm-up challenge, the "Battle of Longs and Shorts," with a prize pool of $75,000 in bitcoin and USDT, running from August 25 to September 9, 2026.
My analysis: Expanding KCGI with TradFi and RWA is not just a marketing move but a signal of market maturity. Bitget is effectively testing a hybrid exchange model where crypto assets and traditional instruments coexist on equal footing. For traders, this is a unique opportunity to diversify strategies within a single competition, and for the industry, it is another step toward erasing the boundaries between classical finance and digital assets. I recommend paying attention to the rToken segment: tokenized stocks with 1:1 backing are a low-risk way to enter the tournament with the potential for high returns.
