Plaud has unveiled a new model of wireless headphones, the One Explorer Edition, positioned as a full-fledged tool for professionals who handle large volumes of spoken information. The device features built-in artificial intelligence capable not only of recording conversations but also of automatically generating transcripts and creating concise summaries of key discussions.
The main highlight of the new product is the presence of a 4G module directly in the charging case. This allows the headphones to operate fully autonomously, without the need to connect to a smartphone or Wi-Fi network. For me, this is a fundamentally important step: the use case of "pulled out of your pocket and recorded a meeting" becomes a reality, and it removes the main limitation of such devices—dependence on external infrastructure.
The built-in Plaud Agent goes beyond simple recording. It integrates with corporate services, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, and Slack. This means users can not only obtain a transcript of negotiations but also automatically create a note in Notion, add an event to the calendar, or send a summary to a work chat. For an analyst or manager, this saves hours of routine manual work.
The device costs $249.99. Pre-orders are already open in several countries, with the first shipments scheduled for late September. Given the functionality and autonomy, the price looks competitive, especially compared to similar solutions that require a constant connection to a smartphone.
My take on the market: Plaud is confidently carving out a niche in "smart" wearable devices for the business segment. However, the key success factor will be not only the hardware but also the quality of the AI algorithms in real-world noise and multi-speaker conditions. If transcription is accurate and integrations are stable, the One Explorer Edition has every chance of becoming the standard for many professionals.
