Spot Bitcoin ETFs continue to show impressive momentum: on August 27, inflows totaled $242.3 million, marking the ninth consecutive day of positive net flows. This is a persistent signal that cannot be ignored—large capital is systematically entering digital gold, disregarding short-term volatility.
Ethereum funds are not lagging behind
Meanwhile, Ethereum ETFs are mirroring the same picture. On the same day, $235 million flowed into funds based on the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, also marking the ninth straight day of inflows. The synchronicity of these flows is notable: investors are not shifting funds from one asset to another but are increasing positions in both simultaneously. This points to the formation of a sustained trend rather than a one-off speculative play.
Particularly noteworthy is BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), which on August 24 attracted $209 million out of the total $338 million in Bitcoin funds. BlackRock's Ethereum counterpart, ETHA, added $90.92 million out of the $116 million that flowed into Ethereum products. The dominance of the asset management giant is evident—its products are becoming the primary channel for institutional capital.
Market responds with gains
Against this backdrop, Bitcoin traded near the $80,000 mark, gaining 2.12% over the day, while Ethereum held around $2,480. The total assets under management of all spot Bitcoin ETFs reached $79.16 billion, with trading volume in the sector at $8.23 billion. These figures confirm that liquidity in crypto instruments continues to grow despite any macroeconomic noise.
The series of inflows began on August 17 and has not been interrupted through yesterday. Over the past week, institutions invested a combined $2.3 billion into Bitcoin and Ethereum funds—the best result since October 2025. Notably, capital is also flowing into newer products: spot Solana ETFs received $60.91 million, and funds based on Hyperliquid (HYPE) took in $24.42 million. This is a clear sign that interest is extending beyond the two largest assets.
Sustained demand for ETFs reduces available supply on spot exchanges, which historically supports prices during accumulation periods. Nine consecutive days of buying is not a coincidence but a marker of major players' participation. Whether the streak can continue next week largely depends on Bitcoin's and Ethereum's ability to maintain their current momentum.
My view: the current dynamics are not just a bounce but a fundamental shift in demand structure. As long as institutions keep building positions at this pace, correction risks look limited. The key level for Bitcoin is $80,000: holding above it will open the path to new highs.
