The crypto investment market is showing confident signs of revival: over the first three days of the trading week, global crypto products accumulated $1.65 billion in net inflows. This is a powerful signal indicating the return of risk appetite among institutional players, who have preferred a wait-and-see stance in recent months.
The lion's share of capital — nearly $1 billion — was directed into bitcoin instruments. Ether also did not stay on the sidelines: investors added $478 million to products based on the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap. Notably, inflows have been recorded for the second consecutive week. Over the previous full week, crypto funds raised $2.94 billion — the best weekly result since the start of the year.
Judging by the dynamics, the key driver of demand is macroeconomic uncertainty. Contradictory signals from the U.S. Federal Reserve are pushing investors to seek alternative tools for preserving capital, and digital assets are once again in the spotlight.
Bitcoin Breaks Through a Key Technical Level
The inflow of funds coincided with a noticeable recovery in the price of the leading cryptocurrency. Following trading on August 26, bitcoin settled around $78,500, and a day earlier it briefly broke through the $81,000 mark. However, the more significant event was a technical signal: the asset returned above its 200-day moving average for the first time in 270 trading days. This indicator is considered one of the main markers of a long-term trend, and a breakout above it is often perceived as the start of a new bullish phase.
That said, inflows into investment products are not a guarantee of an immediate price increase. Rather, they reflect a shift in sentiment: institutional demand, which weakened after the correction, is gaining strength again, and this is an important fundamental factor for the market.
Geography of Demand and Altcoins
The bulk of inflows came from American investors — they accounted for about $1.5 billion of the total. Germany and Switzerland also showed solid inflows, pointing to the global nature of the recovery. The total assets under management of crypto investment structures reached $155 billion, and net inflows since the start of the year turned positive for the first time, amounting to about $3.4 billion.
In addition to flagship assets, investors actively increased positions in altcoins. Products based on XRP attracted $80.5 million, Solana — $62.9 million, and Hyperliquid — $39 million. This indicates diversification of institutional portfolios and growing interest in promising projects beyond the top-2.
My comment: Bitcoin's return above the 200-day moving average, combined with sustained ETF inflows and declining U.S. Treasury yields, forms a classic scenario for continued upward movement. However, volatility should not be ruled out: the market remains sensitive to macroeconomic data, and any hawkish signal from the Fed could trigger a correction. Nevertheless, the current capital dynamics are the strongest argument in favor of a bullish scenario over the medium term.
