Chinese tech giant Huawei has officially announced the seventh version of its operating system, HarmonyOS. The key development vector for the platform is deep integration of artificial intelligence and the creation of infrastructure for AI agents.
The main innovation is a completely redesigned voice assistant, Xiaoyi. It can now manage over 2,100 system functions and, more importantly, interact with 2,000 third-party AI agents. According to fresh data from analysts at Counterpoint Research, in the first quarter of this year, HarmonyOS's share of the Chinese mobile operating system market reached 19%, already surpassing iOS, which stood at 16%.
