Brian Armstrong: Bitcoin found a bottom near $60,000 — a reversal is beginning
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has once again reaffirmed his long-term belief in bitcoin, calling it "new digital gold." He confirmed that he maintains a long position on the asset and sees signs that the current correction is coming to an end.
In his recent statement, Armstrong directly pointed out that investor sentiment, as in previous cycles, swings between extremes. He is convinced that short-term volatility does not negate the long-term bullish trend, and the current situation is just another chapter in a familiar scenario that has been repeating since 2011.
Four-Year Cycle and Local Bottom
Along with his post, Armstrong attached a chart titled "Bitcoin Four-Year Cycles," which clearly shows alternating phases of growth and decline, each lasting approximately two years. He placed a question mark in mid-2026, suggesting that bitcoin may have already found its price bottom around $60,000. However, he refrained from drawing final conclusions.
This analysis aligns with the views of other experts. For example, analyst Benjamin Cowen also adheres to the four-year cycle theory, predicting a probable bottom no earlier than the fourth quarter of 2026. However, other market participants note that the influx of institutional capital and funds into spot ETFs could have significantly accelerated the usual phases, shifting the timeframes.
Bearish Forecast and a Look at 2030
Armstrong also criticized the bearish sentiment surrounding the current price of bitcoin. According to him, volumes of stablecoins, prediction markets, and derivatives have noticeably increased in recent months, indicating the maturity of the industry that many participants have yet to notice. He emphasized the fundamental role of bitcoin as a core digital infrastructure.
His optimism extends far beyond the current $60,000. Armstrong is confident that by 2030, 10% of the global economy will operate on cryptocurrencies, and the price of bitcoin will be "significantly higher" and, as he has previously predicted, could reach millions of dollars per coin.
Cryptalist Expert Opinion: Armstrong's statement is a powerful signal for the market, but it should not be taken as a guarantee of an immediate rally. The $60,000 level indeed looks like strong support, but to confirm a reversal, we need to see sustained volume and a close above $70,000. For now, we are in a zone of uncertainty where fundamental arguments clash with short-term macroeconomic turbulence.
