Coinbase's Armstrong sees Bitcoin 'bottom' at $60,000 — cycle analysis and long-term forecast

CEO Coinbase Brian Armstrong

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong suggested that Bitcoin has likely already reached a local bottom around $60,000. However, he noted that there is no absolute certainty in this — the market remains volatile, and any reference point could be revised.

Armstrong confirmed that he maintains a long position in the asset, viewing Bitcoin as "new digital gold." He expects the price to significantly exceed current levels by 2030, linking this dynamic to the historical four-year halving cycle. In his view, it is precisely the reduction in issuance every four years that creates a fundamental scarcity, which drives the value upward in the long term.

From my perspective, the $60,000 mark indeed looks psychologically important: it is a zone where dense liquidity formed in August-September 2023, and a retest of this level could become an entry point for institutional investors. However, I would not rush to call it an absolute "bottom" — too many macroeconomic factors, including Fed interest rates and geopolitical risks, could trigger another round of correction. Nevertheless, the logic of the four-year cycle remains one of the most reliable models for long-term forecasting.
