Quadrillion for Musk: Elon named the only way to accumulate $999 trillion
Elon Musk is seriously considering the status of a quadrillionaire as an achievable goal. However, in his opinion, this will require something more than just earthly assets — full-fledged factories on the Moon and Mars are necessary.
The internet recently calculated that the founder of Tesla and SpaceX is about $998.9 trillion short of the coveted quadrillion dollars. Musk did not refute these calculations, but instead supported the idea, stating that such sums could only be accumulated through production outside of Earth.
His response on social network X drew attention, clearly marking the upper limit of wealth creation on a single planet. According to the billionaire's estimate, achieving such a scale with exclusively "earthly" assets is impossible.
"It's real, but for that, you definitely need factories on the Moon and Mars."
Moreover, Musk pondered a fundamental transformation of the very nature of money. He suggested that by the time humanity can operate with such gigantic fortunes, traditional currency might completely disappear.
"By that time, I think dollars won't be the currency anymore. Only mass and energy," the entrepreneur emphasized.
The Cosmic Logic of Capital
All these statements come against the backdrop of SpaceX's rapid growth. The company conducted a record IPO with a valuation of $2 trillion on the Nasdaq and briefly entered the top six most valuable companies in the US. Previously, Musk predicted that by 2030, SpaceX's revenue could reach $1 trillion, although in 2025 the company expects to earn $18.7 billion.
The same logic is evident in all of Musk's projects. Under a contract with SpaceX, he will receive 200 million shares with enhanced voting rights if a permanent colony of at least one million people emerges on Mars. SpaceX has already formed the first crew for a flight around Mars, which includes a crypto billionaire.
Musk did not miss the opportunity to joke that he would finally acquire that "volcanic lair" he has repeatedly mentioned publicly with a smile. Presenting the boldest ideas through references to science fiction is his signature style.
Expert opinion: SpaceX's stock market listing clearly demonstrates how much Musk has changed perceptions of the value of private companies. The talk of a quadrillion is a logical continuation of this thought. The limit of personal and corporate wealth is now set not by the market, but by how far humanity advances in exploring other planets. This is not just a futuristic fantasy, but potentially a new driver for asset valuation in the era of an interplanetary economy.
