Brian Armstrong: Bitcoin found a bottom around $60,000 — a new cycle begins

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has once again reaffirmed his long-term belief in Bitcoin, calling it "new digital gold." According to him, he maintains a long position on the asset and is convinced that the current correction is nothing more than another phase in the familiar four-year cycle.

In a recent post on X, Armstrong directly addressed market turbulence, noting that investor sentiment often swings from one extreme to another. In his view, the scenario now repeating is already familiar from past cycles: short-term fluctuations do not negate Bitcoin's long-term trajectory.

Four-Year Cycle and a Signal of a Bottom

Armstrong attached a chart titled "Bitcoin Four-Year Cycles" to his post. It clearly shows alternating phases of growth and decline since 2011, each lasting approximately two years. A question mark is placed in mid-2026 — precisely where, according to the cycle's logic, a local bottom could form.

The Coinbase head suggested that Bitcoin may have already found its price bottom around $60,000, but refrained from drawing final conclusions. He emphasized that the current situation fits a scenario familiar to investors and does not contradict the logic of long-term market movement.

Debates around four-year cycle analysis have intensified this year. Analyst Benjamin Cowen, for example, believes the pattern still works and expects a probable bottom no earlier than the fourth quarter of 2026. Other experts note that institutional capital and inflows into spot ETFs have significantly accelerated the usual phases of growth and decline, which could shift the traditional timing.

Outlook to 2030: Fundamental Confidence

Armstrong also criticized bearish forecasts for Bitcoin's current price. According to him, stablecoins, prediction markets, and derivative instruments have grown noticeably in recent months, even though BTC itself remains under pressure. The industry, in his opinion, has long outgrown the confines of Bitcoin alone, but many market participants have yet to see this.

At the same time, he emphasized Bitcoin's fundamental role. The current drawdown, Armstrong believes, is just one of many cycles, while the asset's significance remains unchanged. This aligns with his long-standing predictions: sooner or later, Bitcoin will be worth millions of dollars.

"I remain optimistic as always — I think the price will be significantly higher by 2030, and I still believe in Bitcoin," the businessman emphasized.

Whether the level Armstrong identified will hold will become clear as the macroeconomic situation develops in the second half of 2026. His post has generated notable resonance, indicating close attention from market participants to the opinions of key industry figures.

Expert opinion: Armstrong's statement is not just emotional support for the asset, but a clear signal for institutional players. The technical picture indeed points to a possible bottom formation in the $58,000–$62,000 zone, but a confident reversal requires an increase in volumes and a reduction in volatility. While the market is caught between fear and greed, a stance from someone of Coinbase's CEO's caliber could serve as a trigger for a shift in sentiment.
